An established commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its tendering team based on the Central Coast.
Working closely with the Estimating Manager in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, you will play a key role in securing and delivering successful commercial construction projects through accurate estimating, tender preparation, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Complete cost plans and budgets for feasibility studies and concept designs.
Prepare detailed Scope of Works documentation for subcontractor pricing.
Conduct site inspections and liaise with consultants, stakeholders, and end users.
Measure and prepare detailed estimates for tender submissions.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Review and analyse subcontractor quotations during tender evaluation.
Prepare detailed project cost estimates that accurately reflect project delivery costs.
Complete risk and opportunity assessments for tender submissions.
Identify and prepare tender clarifications and exclusions.
Assist in the preparation of construction methodologies and tender programmes.
Complete tender forms and supporting documentation for review prior to submission.
Assist with the preparation of project construction budgets.
Support subcontractor selection, procurement activities, and contract award processes.
Assist project teams with pricing and valuation of project variations.
Provide detailed handovers to project delivery teams following successful tender awards.
Contribute to business development and tendering-related initiatives as required.
About You
Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction industry.
Strong understanding of commercial building methodologies and construction practices.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
Experience preparing detailed tenders, cost plans, and budgets.
Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
